Notification of Planning Permit Application and Environment Report Submission
RES Australia has reached a major milestone in progressing the Watta Wella Renewable Energy Project, located approximately 16 km northeast of Stawell.
The Project requires assessment under:
the Victorian Planning and Environment Act 1987 through a Planning Permit Application;
the Victorian Environment Effects Act 1978 through the preparation of an Environment Report; and
the Commonwealth Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 through an accredited state assessment process using the Environment Report.
The Planning Permit Application (PPA) and Environment Report (ER) are now publicly available for review and comment.

You are invited to make a submission on the PPA and ER during the notification period. Please note that two separate concurrent exhibition processes are underway and feedback can be provided on the PPA and /or the ER. Details on how to provide feedback are provided on the website links below.

The Planning Permit application notice period is open for a minimum of 28 days; however the department will consider feedback up until the application is determined.
Environment Report

Feedback on the Environment Report is open from the 27/02/2026 and closes on the 27/03/2026 (28 days).
