June 2026 - Planning Permit Approved

The Victorian Government’s Department of Transport and Planning (DTP) has now granted a planning permit for the project. You can view the decision and conditions of consent here:

This marks a key milestone and allows the project to move into the next stage of development.

We’d like to sincerely thank community members, landholders and stakeholders who took the time to provide feedback throughout the planning process. Your input has helped shape the project and inform how we approach design, mitigation and community outcomes.

What this means

  • The project has completed its planning assessment process

  • We await a decision from the minister for Planning for the Environment Report expected in July 2026

  • We await Federal approval under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (EPBC Act) expected in August 2026.

What happens next

Over the coming months, we will:

  • Focus on detailed design of the project

  • Progress secondary approvals and additional technical studies

  • Keep working with landholders, neighbours and the broader community.
